To install the add-on, go to the Plugins area → Add New and upload the zip file you have downloaded from the Thank you page or from the email you received after the purchase. Click Install Now.

Activate the add-on and your license key.

First of all, you need to go to the Dashboard section of the Promo Banner add-on:

Then, click Create Banner to get started:

First of all, you need to give your banner a name (for example, Banner #1) and type your text that will be displayed:

Then, you need to set up Action. There are three available options: 

The None option means that the banner will contain only some information and it will not be clickable (no action). Such banners are usually used to provide your clients with some notifications.

The Link Banner option is applying the action to the whole banner body – it means that by clicking your banner in any place, your client will be directed to a page you connect to this banner.

The Link Button option allows you to create a button with a text on your banner and apply an action to it, instead of applying it to the whole banner body.

Let's select the Link Banner option:

We've also enabled the Open in new tab and Add the close button functions on our banner. You can always enable/disable these functions if you need. 

Let's also check what the difference is if we choose the Link Button option:

As you may see, the only difference here is the Button text field where we can enter text for our button.

Let's move forward:

Now, we need to select positioning, page to display on, and schedule for our banner.

There are two Position options: Staying at the top and Staying at the top and scrolling off the screen.

The Staying at the top option won't fix your banner on the top. So, when your client scrolls a page with the banner to the bottom, the banner will be eventually scrolled out.
 
The Staying at the top and scrolling off the screen option means that your client will also see your banner on the top, no matter how he scrolls your site.

You can also choose between two options in Display on page – to display you banner on All pages or on Home page only:

Let's come to Start date:

Here you can setup a schedule for your banner. Choose Display immediately to publish your banner right away. If you want to launch it on a particular date, you need to choose the Schedule option:

Using this tool, you can select a date and even hours, when you want to publish your banner. The same approach is applied to an end date:

Also, you can combine the Display immediately/indefinitely option with the Schedule option. Let's say, you may have a start date, but not have an end day, or vice versa.

Don't forget to click Save.

After it, you can start customizing your banner design:

There are several background templates for your banners which you can use for most occasions, such as seasonal marketing campaigns, or special events, like Black Friday, etc.

You can use your own background for your banner. We recommend using images only 1920x200 or 100x100 dimensions. 

Also, you can customize colors for Text and Button background as well as the Banner size – Small, Medium or Large.

Click Save to complete customization. 

Now, you can see your banner in the Dashboard:

You can see the name of the banner an on/off switcher (that allows you to enable or disable your banner), the Edit button (if you need to edit your banner), the Duplicate button (if you need to copy your banner) and the Move to trash button (if you need to delete your banner).
